First there is not one origination that is the be all and end all of scoring originations. There are many originations that you can go to have you deer score with.
When you decide to have your trophy score you have a few questions to answer. How did you kill the deer? Where did you kill the deer? After you read this article you will have an idea what you need to do.
All of the origination have different rule on how the animal is killed. They all have a one rule called an ethically fair chare hunt. First the animal has to be hunting in its natural habit. This means no game farms or caned hunts. Second you can’t shot out of automobiles or airplane. You can’t use radios or other electors to track the game. The person that is submitting the animal has to kill it. This last one may seam obvious but what this means is you’re guided or buddy can’t shot the animal before or after you do. This happen when hunting dangers game hunt. The guide may shot the bear after you do to save you life. If this happens you can’t submit it the Clubs.
The oldies origination in the country it the Boone and Crocket Club (BC). This club was established by Theodore Roosevelt in 1884. BC will accept any deer killed by any legal means. The club is the most famous for gun hunting. All animals must be killed by an ethically fair chare and killed by following all laws. The animal rack or scull must dry for 60 days and meet a minimum score. The minimum score for a white tail is 170” for typical and 195” for non-typical.
The second oldest trophy origination is the Pope and Young Club (PY). This origination is established in 1961. This club will only accept trophy that were killed with a bow and arrow. They have many rules about documenting where and how you killed the animal. There can not be any lights on you bow to help you see your sites. If the bow has more then 65% let-off the trophy will be recorded but with will have an asterisk next to it. Trophy killed by cross bow is not accepted by PY. The trophy must dry for 60 days. A white tail deer must be 125”for a typical and 155” for non-typical.

The national muzzle loader rifle association (NMLEA) witch only takes trophy taken with muzzle loading fire arms. They have many of the same rules is BC club. The trophy must dry for 60 days. The trophy white tail has to be 130” for a typical and 160” for non-typical.

The last club is the Buskmasters club founded by Jack Bushman in 1994. This club has the ease score system of all the clubs. The biggest different is the inside spread is not counted. You only count what the deer grow. They have two groups’ fire arms and archery. They also do not have a typical and non-typical class and also do not have to dry for 60 day requirement. A whitetail kill with a fire arms has to score 140 and with a bow 105.
