The Bear Hunt
Part 2#
After Doing your scouting we have to setup out hunting equipment. Bow hunting for bear is hard when hunting over bait or with dogs. Hunting bears with a bow and not being able to us bait or dogs can be a imposable task. The most important task that a hunter must do is to scout the land that is going to be hunted.
Next you must be confident in your shooting skill. When trying to spot and stock bear or deer a hunter must be able to shot 40 or 50 yards into the kill zone. They Also must be able to shot from difficult positions like being on your kneeling or shooting off handed. the shooter skills must be as sharp as the broad heads that he is using. hay you have to be able to keep your cool as well. When shooting at 50 yards at a target can be hard but shooting a bear with your hart in you throat is very hard.

This would be a good place to point out that even if you have never hunted bear before this fact shouldn't stop you from trying. This webpage is being written as events happen. This means that I haven't already killed the bear. This webpage is being written as events happen. The season is a week and half away and I don't know if I will ever see a bear
When shooting in your back yard you should try to shoot like you would in the woods. This means shooting with broad heads. The problems with with shooting broad heads is that it is hard on the targets. A broad head target will not last long with this kind of abuse. Getting the arrows out of the target can be hard too. What I do to save my target is to put a thick book or catalog tied to the target. This will save your target and still give you the confident to get the job done. I get a lot of Cabela's catalog and a couple of those will do a good job. Picking up a book at a tag sale with at least 200 pages will also work. The Book or catalog will be hard enough to stop the arrow but soft enough not to hurt the arrows. Shooting broad heads into book will save your target and give you the confidence to make those long shoot.

This is a good time to check out your gear. I put all the gear that I will need in the wood in to my back pack. As you can see I have just a black back pack like the one you would give your kid on there way to school. The back pack is water proof and of good construction also it is about half the cost of a camo one. As long as you have camo on it will not make any different what color your back pack is.

The gear that I put in the back pack is my first ad kit, license, flash light, knife and other gear. I try to keep the pack as light as possible. I also carry my GPS in the out side pocket. The GPS is always on as I scout and glass and stock. I wouldn't go into the woods without a couple different spots mark on a GPS. The reason is that when hunting public land you get to the spot that you want to hunt there could be someone already there.
The other reason that I use a GPS is when I'm scouting and stocking for game is that I could get loss. The GPS will allow to move very far off the trail without getting lost. The reason that the GPS is always on is because it will always be lock onto the satellite.
Good Luck
