The Hunt start
There is no joy in mud's vile tonight. It is not going to be a good bear hunting season for me. The season started with an bad storms. This meant that the farmer that gave me permission to hunt had to get his crops in before they were distorted. The drive to the hunting spot, I was thinking about the drive to the check station with my bear. That was until, I pulled onto the road that lead to where I was going to park. The corn was cut. Now I know that it was silver queen corn and that it was going to be cut down but I was hoping that it would be up until the end of the bear season. Late I would talk to the farmer and he said that he was plant a cover clop to protect his field this winter.
All hope is not lost, there is still the blue berry farm down the road. The bears could still be hitting the blue berries. Maybe there could be more bear at the blue berry seeing that all the corn is cut. As I park at the blue berry patch I was very disappointed by see that there were no blue berries at all.
Any good hunter has plain C. I would do some predator calling might work. The only problem is that it is 85 Degrees and the bears would be looking to keep cool. They would probably not want to deal with a dieing deer. They would simply wait until dark and come over and check out to see if there are any scrip left. I was not going to give up. I cover my self with sent eliminate spray and off I was.
As I made a loop around to a swamp so that the wind would be in my favorite. I would try a couple setup but the heat would keep the bears from coming to see it there was a easy meal. My hunt is not over yet.
The next night I would try a tree stand and using the deer quest smoke sticks. As I drove to the hunting spot the rain start to fall and the thunder stared to bang. This weather could put an end to the hunt. As I sat in the tree I was thinking about the return on effect. Would hunting bear where their is a low change of killing or even see one worth the days off of work time away from family. This is never a ease question to ask or answer. We as hunter never want to say that's that.
It is time to call an end to this hunt. I would have to take more time off work and spent more time away from my family. I will have to call it quit. the bear sign is weak so putting more time into the hunt would only take time away from deer hunting. I will save the days off for deer season and call it a hunt. All hope is not lose I can still hunt this spot late bear season which is also archery deer season.
