Lumenok See The Light

Unless you have been living in a cave, you propel have heard of Lumenok. The lumenok is one of those devices that you ask your self why it has not been around for years.  This product is not only cool but very useful.

Lumenok is an insert that replaces your stander nock with one that glows after the shot.  The nock has a battery and a lighted that is switch on after it is shoot.  Unlike other nocks that are on the market the lumenok is reusable by tune off the light after the shoot.  The lumenok allows the hunter to follow there arrow on the way to the Target.   The nock is longer and heaver then a stander nock. This could cause problems for some hunter that have litter arrows.

Installing a  lumenok is no difficult, simple pull out the old nock and insert the lumenok.   The lumenok is not push in all the way. the nock will move a little when it shot, this is what turn on the light.  The Lumenok will work with any aluminum arrow that uses the Super Uni bushing and almost all popular brands of carbon arrows such as Carbon Express, Carbon Vision, Epsilon, Easton Evolution, Beman ICS, Beman Matrix, Gold Tip, etc.  The lumenok is  twice as long as a stander nock (as see in the photo above) this means that the battery will be in the shaft of the arrow attach to the nock..  The lumenok has two electrically conductive that are on the side of the nock.  When the arrow is fired out of the bow the two conductive make contact and turning on the light.  There is no need to have a switch and anything attached to the bow.  The battery will last for five years on the shelf. With the lumenok being turn on by the shot itself will not alerted game by the glowing nock.

(It is very difficult to have the glow of the nock show up in the photos)

The best part of this nock is that it will allows a hunter to follow the arrow on it way to the game.  Giving you an idea of where the game was hit.  Also if the arrow pass though the game you will see where the arrow is sticking out of the ground.   This is also good when you are practicing in low light and you miss the target.  You will be able to find your arrow much easer. This nock will give the hunter more information before making a decide about how long to wait before go after there trophy.  The lumenok will allow you to recover an arrow after the shoot.   As you all know the arrow will give you the most information about the hit on the deer.

A hunter that has plenty kinetic energy will have very little problem with this nock. As seen in the photo above the arrow with the lumenok is in the group at 40 yards.  The nock dose add 15 grains to the back of the arrow.   The nock part of the lumenok is a little shorter then a stander nock (as seen in the photo above). My hunting setup has 67 pounds of kinetic energy and I had no problem. The webpage for lumenok dose say that litter arrow could have problems.  The other problem is the nock can be turn on if it is knock in the bow case in the back of your truck.  This would shorting the life of the nock.

The battery will only last 40 hours of "on" time and there is not way to replace it.  The battery will also have a shorter life span  in the cold weather.  So what I would do is get your bow all set and then take a some shots with the lumenok and broad heads on.  I have been in my back yard with broad heads and the lumenok at 50 yards and I see no difference between the lumenok and the stander nocks.  I would suggest the use for lumenok for hunting any game.  I would not see any hunting situation where the lumenok would not help you.

There are a lot of great video shots of the lumenok in action.  If you would like to see some go to Google  videos and type in bow hunting.  I would say about a third of the videos would have shots with the lumenok.  If your are thinking about using the lumenok I would buy one and try it.  If there is no problem buy three or four more.

good luck
